Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legal agreement between you, the user, and the Expenses Manager App ("Application"). By accessing or using our Application, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms, which govern your use of the Expenses Manager App and any related services provided by us. Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Application.

User Account and Registration

While creating an account with Expenses Manager is not mandatory for all users, it is highly recommended, especially for those who wish to purchase a Pro subscription or utilize certain features. Users opting for Pro features or Google Drive backups are required to sign in using their Google or Apple account. This sign-in process allows us to collect your name, email, and profile picture from your Google/Apple account, which is used for communication and personalizing your experience within the Application.

User Conduct and Responsibilities

As a user, it is your responsibility to ensure that your use of the Application complies with all applicable laws and regulations

  • Individual Use

    A paid subscription in the Application is for individual use. You may use your subscription, including Cloud Sync, on multiple devices that you personally own and use. Sharing your account credentials, or your subscription, with other individuals so that they may use paid features as their own is strictly prohibited. Violation of this term may result in termination of your subscription and access to the Application.

Content Ownership And Usage

  • Data Ownership and Control

    Users maintain full ownership of the financial data they enter into the Application. By default, this data is stored locally on your device. You may also choose to back it up to your own Google Drive / iCloud Drive, or enable Cloud Sync to replicate it to our cloud infrastructure so that it is available on your other devices. In all cases, ownership of the data remains with you.

  • Backup and Export

    As a convenience, users have the option to back up their data in an encrypted file format, which can be stored on their device, Google Drive, or iCloud. This file can be used later to restore the data back in the Application. Paid subscribers can also export their transaction data in CSV or PDF formats for personal use or record-keeping.

  • Cloud Sync

    Cloud Sync is an optional Pro feature that securely synchronises your application data across your devices using our cloud infrastructure. It is disabled by default and can be enabled at any time from Settings → Cloud Sync. While Cloud Sync is enabled, your data is processed by our sub-processors as described in the Privacy Policy. Cloud Sync requires an active Pro subscription; if your Pro subscription lapses, Cloud Sync is automatically paused on your devices. To permanently delete your Cloud Sync data from our infrastructure, use "Delete Account" in Settings.

    Cloud Sync is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee a specific level of uptime, latency, or sync convergence speed, and the service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or due to factors outside our reasonable control (including, but not limited to, downtime of our sub-processors). Your local copy of the data on each device remains usable while Cloud Sync is unavailable.

  • Voice Entry

    Voice Entry is an optional Pro feature that lets you add a transaction by speaking, with a limited free trial for every user. The audio is processed by Google, acting as our service provider, to produce a draft transaction for you to review (see our Privacy Policy). Because it relies on AI, which can make mistakes, the draft is only a suggestion — you are responsible for reviewing and correcting each transaction before saving it. The feature is provided on a best-effort basis, with no guarantee of accuracy or availability, and is subject to usage limits. We may restrict or suspend access to Voice Entry if we detect abusive, automated, or excessive use, or any use that could harm or overload our systems.

Updates and Maintenance

  • Ongoing Improvements:

    We are committed to continually enhancing the Application. New features and improvements may be introduced as needed.

  • Maintenance and Support

    While there is no regular maintenance period for the Application, we encourage users to report any issues or problems encountered. Our team will strive to address and resolve issues promptly to ensure a smooth user experience.

Liability and Warranty

  • No Warranties Provided

    The Application is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis without any warranties, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

  • Limitation of Liability

    In no event shall the Application, its affiliates, employees, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from the use of or inability to use the Application. Our liability in any dispute or case is limited to the amount the user has spent on a paid subscription in the past 6 months.

Dispute Resolution

Should you have any concerns or disputes related to the Application, we encourage you to contact us via email. We aim to resolve any issues amicably and promptly.

Modification of Terms

These Terms may be updated or modified from time to time. We reserve the right to make these changes without prior notice. Users will be notified of significant changes to the Terms via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Application after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Termination of Service

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the Application if you are found to be in violation of these Terms. Termination will result in the immediate cessation of access to the Application and its services.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Data Usage and Privacy

In managing subscriptions, we utilize RevenueCat, a third-party service. However, only account IDs are shared with RevenueCat to facilitate the linkage of purchases to your account within the Expenses Manager App. Your privacy remains our top priority. Your email, name, and profile picture collected during account creation are securely stored and not shared with third parties.

We utilize third-party analytics services, including Firebase Analytics provided by Google LLC and Facebook Analytics for Apps by Meta Platforms, Inc., to collect non-personal data related to app usage. This information aids us in improving app functionality and user experience.

If you enable Cloud Sync, your application data is additionally processed by Supabase, Inc. (which stores your synced data and attachments) and Journey Mobile, Inc. (which operates the PowerSync sync engine). Please see the "Cloud Sync" section of our Privacy Policy for the full description.

If you use Voice entry, the audio of your voice note is processed by Google LLC to extract the transaction details and a transcript. Please see the "Voice Entry" section of our Privacy Policy for the full description, including what is retained and for how long.
