Types of Data Collected
Among the types of Personal Data that this Application collects, by itself or through third parties, there are: email address; name associated with your Google account / Apple ID; Google account / Apple ID profile picture, device information; geography/region; number of Users; number of sessions; session duration; Application opens; Application updates; first launches; operating systems; and, when you use Voice entry, the audio of your voice notes and the transcripts produced from them.
Complete details on each type of Personal Data collected are provided in the dedicated sections of this privacy policy or by specific explanation texts displayed prior to the Data collection.
While using the Application, you may save your transactional data, reminders, photos (associated with transactions or reminders), budgets, categories (for transactions and reminders), accounts, payment modes, debts, tags, etc. By default, all this data is stored locally on your device. You remain the owner of this data at all times.
Optionally, you may choose to:
- back up your data to your own Google Drive / iCloud Drive, or
- enable Cloud Sync to securely sync your data across your devices through our cloud infrastructure (described in the "Cloud Sync" section below).
Personal Data may be freely provided by the User, or, in case of Usage Data, collected automatically when using this Application.
Unless specified otherwise, all Data requested by this Application is mandatory and failure to provide this Data may make it impossible for this Application to provide its services. In cases where this Application specifically states that some Data is not mandatory, Users are free not to communicate this Data without consequences to the availability or the functioning of the Service.
Users who are uncertain about which Personal Data is mandatory are welcome to contact the Owner.
Detailed Information on the Data Collected
Personal Data is collected for the following purposes and using the following services:

Personal Data
If you sign in to the application using your Google account / Apple ID, the application may use the profile info data associated with your Google account / Apple ID like your email, your name, and your profile picture to display inside the application.

Google Drive / iCloud Drive Integration
The application provides you an option which you can use to backup or restore your application data, i.e. your transactions, budgets, categories, attachments (associated with transactions), etc. onto or from your own Google Drive / iCloud Drive.
While using this feature, you have to grant permissions to the application to read/write files that the application creates on your Google Drive / iCloud Drive. This doesn't provide full access of your Google Drive / iCloud Drive to the application, but only provides permission to the application to create backup files onto your Drive and then read those backup files at the time of restore.

Cloud Sync
Cloud Sync is an optional feature that lets you sync your data across your devices and keeps a continuously updated copy on our cloud infrastructure. It is disabled by default; you can enable it at any time from the "Cloud Sync" section in Settings.
What is synced
When you enable Cloud Sync, the following data is uploaded from your device and kept in sync with our cloud:
- Transactions
- Accounts and payment modes
- Categories
- Budgets
- Debts
- Attachments associated to transactions
Your Google / Apple sign-in is used to identify your sync account so that only you can access your data. We do not sync data from other apps or files on your device.
Where it is stored and processed
Cloud Sync data is processed by the following sub-processors on our behalf. See the "Sub-processors" section below for full details:
- Supabase — hosts the database that stores your synced records and the storage that holds your attachments. Data is hosted in the United States region.
- PowerSync — operates the sync engine that replicates changes between your devices and the Supabase database. Hosted in the United States region.
- Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — used to verify your identity when your device connects to Cloud Sync.
Encryption
All data exchanged between your device and our cloud infrastructure is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. Only you, signed in to your account, can access your synced data.
Retention and deletion
Once you enable Cloud Sync on your account, synced data is retained on our cloud infrastructure for as long as your account exists. You can remove your data in any of the following ways:
- Delete Account (Settings → Delete Account). This deletes your synced rows and attachments from our cloud infrastructure and revokes your sync access. Local data on your device is also cleared.
- Pro lapse. If your Pro subscription lapses, Cloud Sync is automatically paused on your devices. Your data continues to be stored on our cloud infrastructure for up to 12 months to allow you to resume on renewal; if you do not renew, please use Delete Account to remove the cloud copy.

Voice Entry
Voice Entry is an optional feature that lets you add a transaction by speaking instead of typing. It is part of our Pro plan; every user also gets a limited free trial of it. You are asked for microphone access only when you first use the feature, and you can decline — the rest of the Application works without it.
When you record a voice note, the audio is processed by Google, acting as our service provider, to produce a draft transaction and a transcript of what you said for you to review and confirm. The audio is used only to produce that draft and is not stored by us after processing; Google's handling of it is governed by its own terms (see "Google LLC" in the Sub-Processors section below). The transcript and the parsed draft are retained for up to 90 days, used solely to measure and improve the accuracy of Voice Entry, and are automatically deleted after that period.
Signing in may be required to use Voice Entry on some devices.

Analytics
The services contained in this section enable the Owner to monitor and analyze user traffic and can be used to keep track of User behavior.
Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC)
Google Analytics for Firebase or Firebase Analytics is an analytics service provided by Google LLC. In order to understand Google's use of Data, consult Google's partner policy.
Firebase Analytics may share Data with other tools provided by Firebase, such as Crash Reporting, Authentication, Remote Config or Notifications. The User may check this privacy policy to find a detailed explanation about the other tools used by the Owner.
Data collected: Application opens; Application updates; device information; first launches; geography/region; number of sessions; number of Users; operating systems; session duration.
Facebook Analytics for Apps (Meta Platforms, Inc.)
Facebook Analytics for Apps is an analytics service provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. In order to understand Meta's use of Data, consult Meta's privacy policy.
Data collected: Application opens; Application updates; device information; first launches; geography/region; number of sessions; number of Users; operating systems; session duration.
This information helps the Owner in analysing the effectiveness of the marketing campaigns for the application on Meta and in making data-driven decisions to optimise them.

Content performance and features testing
The services contained in this section allow the Owner to track and analyze the User responses or behavior regarding changes to the structure, text or any other component of this Application.
Firebase Remote Config (Google LLC)
Firebase Remote Config is an A/B testing and configuration service provided by Google LLC.
Data collected: various types of Data as specified in the privacy policy of the service.

Crash Reporting & Diagnostics
This type of service allows this Application to monitor the crashes and errors occurring during the use of the application so its performance, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting can be improved.
Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC)
Firebase Crashlytics is a crash reporting service provided by Google LLC.
Data collected: various types of Data as specified in the privacy policy of the service.

Sending messages
This type of service makes it possible to send notifications or messages to the User.
These services may also collect data concerning the date and time when the message was viewed by the User, as well as when the User interacted with it, such as by clicking on links included in the message.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC)
Firebase Cloud Messaging is a message sending service provided by Google LLC. Firebase Cloud Messaging allows the Owner to send messages and notifications to Users across platforms such as Android, iOS, and the web. Messages can be sent to single devices, groups of devices, or specific topics or User segments.
Data collected: various types of Data as specified in the privacy policy of the service.
Sub-Processors
We use the following sub-processors to operate the Application. We list them here so that you can make an informed choice about the services you enable. Each sub-processor has its own privacy policy, linked below.

Google LLC
Provides Firebase Authentication (sign-in), Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Remote Config, and Cloud Functions, and the processing behind Voice Entry. Sub-processor of personal identifiers (name, email, profile picture), usage / diagnostic data, and — when you use Voice Entry — the audio of your voice notes (used only to produce the draft and transcript; see the "Voice Entry" section above). Firebase data is hosted in the United States region. Firebase privacy policy and Google privacy policy.

Supabase, Inc.
Provides the database and storage that hold Cloud Sync data and attachments. Used only when Cloud Sync is enabled. Data is hosted in the United States region. Supabase privacy policy.

Journey Mobile, Inc. (PowerSync)
Operates the PowerSync sync engine that replicates Cloud Sync data between your devices and Supabase. Used only when Cloud Sync is enabled. Hosted in the United States region. PowerSync privacy policy.

RevenueCat, Inc.
Manages your Premium and Pro subscription state across the App Store and Play Store. Receives a pseudonymous account identifier so that we can link your purchase to your account inside the Application. RevenueCat privacy policy.

Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook Analytics for Apps)
Provides aggregate analytics used to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Meta privacy policy.
Data Retention and Your Rights
We retain Personal Data only for as long as it is needed to provide the Service to you, or as required by law.
- Local data (data stored on your device): remains on your device until you delete the Application or use "Delete Data & Start Afresh" in Settings.
- Cloud Sync data: retained while Cloud Sync is enabled on your account. Removed when you use "Delete Account" in Settings (this deletes your synced records and attachments from our cloud infrastructure).
- Account identifiers (name, email, profile picture from Google / Apple sign-in): retained while your account is active. Removed when you use "Delete Account".
- Voice transcripts (the transcript and parsed draft produced from Voice Entry): retained for up to 90 days in a separate store to improve Voice Entry accuracy, then automatically deleted. The underlying audio is not retained.
- Diagnostic / analytics data: retained per our sub-processors' standard retention windows, in aggregate form where possible.
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your Personal Data. The Application provides self-service mechanisms for most of these (Settings → Backup & Export for export; Settings → Delete Account for deletion). For anything you cannot do from within the Application, contact us at the email address below and we will respond within a reasonable period.
International Data Transfers
By using the Application, you understand and consent to your Data being transferred to and stored on infrastructure located in the regions described above (Cloud Sync data: United States; other sub-processors: as described in their respective privacy policies). We rely on the standard contractual protections offered by these sub-processors for such cross-border transfers.
Children's Privacy
This Application is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us at the email address below and we will take appropriate steps to delete such information.
Disclosure Of Data
Legal Requirements
Expenses Manager may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- To comply with a legal obligation
- To protect and defend the rights or property of Expenses Manager
- To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
- To protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public
- To protect against legal liability

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.
We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
Changes To This Privacy Policy
The Owner reserves the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time by giving notice to its Users on this page and possibly within this Application and/or - as far as technically and legally feasible - sending a notice to Users via any contact information available to the Owner. It is strongly recommended to check this page often, referring to the effective date present on the top of this page.
